Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office Announces the Collection of Supplies for Bolt Bags for Survivors of Domestic Abuse
Carroll County State’s Attorney Haven Shoemaker announces that his Office, in conjunction with local law enforcement and the Carroll County Public Library, is collecting supplies for Bolt Bags to be provided to survivors of abuse who are leaving violent relationships and seeking safe, free, and supportive new futures. Bolt Bags contain a variety of necessities such as toiletries, first aid kits and hygiene products. Everything in the Bolt Bags helps survivors navigate the transition to a normal life free from violence.
The Bolt Bags will be distributed by Springboard Community Services and are being provided through the generosity of Terry’s Tag and Title Service, LLC, which has its principal location in Westminster, but also has locations in Eldersburg, Taneytown, Owings Mills, and Columbia.
Those wishing to donate items to fill the Bolt Bags may drop them off during the month of October at one of the local branches of the Carroll County Public Library including; Eldersburg, Finksburg, Hampstead, Mount Airy, and Taneytown or at their local town or city police department or the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office or the Maryland State Police Barrack in Westminster. Suggested supplies for donation include (but are not limited to): shampoo and conditioner; deodorant; tampons/maxi pads; dental floss/picks; toothbrushes and toothpaste, mouthwash, brushes/combs, soap/body wash, wet wipes, first aid kits, and washcloths/towels. Donations of items for children are also encouraged.
