Adult Drag Queen Show Open to Children Comes to Westminster

An adult drag queen show is coming to Westminster next month that will be open to all ages, including children.

The event is advertised on social media and EventBrite with the headline, “Join the best drag queens in the DMV [DC, Maryland, Virginia] for a brunch you won’t want to miss. Great food, drinks and a drag show that will keep you entertained.”

Tickets are going for $22 for entry with a cash bar available.

The advertisement goes on to explain that “All ages are welcome, but keep in mind this is a Drag Show and there may be some risky moments throughout the show. We hope that you join us and become part of the party!”

The Sunday festivity will be held at Best Western in Westminster and is organized by “Drag me to Brunch!”, a group that prides itself in providing the “biggest Drag Brunch” entertainment in the DC, Maryland and Virginia areas.

Drag queen shows have become a growing fad in Carroll County.  Just recently a Valentine’s Day drag queen bingo event was held at the Lineboro Volunteer fire department in Manchester.  A similar event is scheduled at Manchester Fireman’s Activities Building in March.  Though these events were restricted to adults 18 and older.

Access to drag queen entertainment for children was a hot button issue in the recent board of education race, with failed candidate Amanda Jozkowski announcing on social media she was attending drag queen story hour as a way to teach inclusiveness to children.
