93.1 WPOC, Baltimore’s biggest country music station & its second rated radio station overall, is measurably suppressing what has been the #1 song in America, Jason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town”, according to public data visible on the local iHeartRadio affiliate’s website.

From midmorning Tuesday July 18th through midmorning Tuesday July 25th, the leading country music station in Charm City played Luke Combs’s “Fast Car” & Tyler Hubbard’s “Dancin’ In The Country” songs forty times each, Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” thirty-seven times, & Kane Brown’s “Bury Me In Georgia” twenty-seven times, while only playing Aldean’s smash hit four times, three of which were in the middle of the night.

Aldean’s tune about small town values was played at the following days and times on 93.1 WPOC during the time period, according to a list of “Recently Played” songs on the radio station’s website:

  • Thursday July 20th at 1:53am

  • Friday July 21st at 1:19am

  • Saturday July 22nd at 8:06pm

  • Tuesday July 25th at 12:44am

This despite the song ascending to #1 overall on iTunes on July 20th & debuting at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart Tuesday, ahead of Wallen who sits at #3, Combs at #4, Hubbard at #36, & Brown at #40.

Aldean is set to perform at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia on Thursday July 27th.
